Morrisville History
In the 19th century, Jeremiah Morris donated land for the construction of a North Carolina Railroad depot, water tower, and other houses, and in 1852, the community was named "Morrisville" in his honor. It was officially chartered in 1875, but was disincorporated in 1933. However, the town charter was restored in 1947.
